Background/ Need Analysis

There is a general assertion that the standard of Education has drastically fallen in Nigeria. A team of researchers investigated this claim and came out with the following findings
i Some teachers are deficient in the competencies dimension of their job requirement. Being versatile in a subject is necessary but not sufficient criteria for teaching

ii In a high-tech world that we now live in, children between the ages of 4 and 18 years have assimilated too much information in their long term memory. This information, though increases the awareness of children, are sometimes conflicting, but too frequently, tend to sway the minds and attention of these children/students from their academic work, thus giving rise to Attention Deficit Disorder.(ADD)

iii Further research shows that environment plays an essential role as to which part of the range that the child will function. Environment does not change IQ level rather teachers make the difference. Furthermore, high remuneration to teachers does not translate into teaching effectiveness.

In the context of the above backdrop, we are incline to believe that sustained improvement in education can only be attained with changes in the quality of learning experiences on school Administrators and those who impact knowledge
